Blue Ridge Mountains road trip

Saturday we took a long road trip to Grandfather Mountain via the Blue Ridge Parkway. I had some misgivings about going to a touristy site on Memorial Day weekend, but it really wasn't that crowded. It was a nice drive, except for the fact that Heather absolutely hates riding in the car. As a baby I was a good car sleeper, but she doesn't seem to take after me in this regard. I imagine that road trips would be more fun if they didn't involve hours of a child screaming uncomfortably.
